Haven - Previous Game Infomation
Oct. 10th, 2012 02:01 am)posting for those curious on some oddities in John within the game)
John previously resided within another city, picking up some... interesting skills. Upon his first arrival there, John was brought in by a young woman known as Elizabetheta Buckley, who owned a steampunk shop, selling clockwork assistants. She was eager to take on an assistant in a city that knew nothing about her art, as well as show some hospitality to the lost boy. Starting out as an errand boy, he cleaned the shop in exchange for lessons, using his natural knack for puzzle-solving to pick up the building skills necessary. He’s been learning the art for a year, and can make his own small, shoddy clockwork assistants if given the proper supplies. He also grew rather attached to the woman, mourning her disappearance, and carrying her lessons on with notes from around the shop. He gave up on her return, though, and holds deep resentments.
John has also managed to develop relationships with those from his own universe that managed to be trapped as well. Going nearly insane from the solitude and barred progress in Sburb, he quickly bonded to any of the same universe that wandered in. He lived very closely with Dirk, and considers him to be a close friend, learning a bit more about the Alpha session from him. He's also become close with Vriska, only to have her disappear after returning from his one-year absence in which he 'forgot', leaving him with some very conflicting feelings. Such a long time within the other City also led to some unlikely blooming relationships. A consistent roommate became Davesprite, in a very close bond where John was simply glad to have such familiar kin, and Davesprite worked to keep the other safe. After a few months and getting to know each other closely, the two ended up dating recently before John disappeared from the City. John has taken to the relationship with some confliction, new to the idea both of dating another guy, as well as dating in general. He’s become incredibly adjusted to having such a close relationship by his side, and will be unsure what to do without it.
